Wait, what?
Yeah I know its been a while since my last posting. I've since started college at Ashford University (third choice) and found it to be quite dull and uninspiring. I am hoping that after I finish Eng. Comp. 1 and 2 that I can get into something that actually interests me.
I've also found a new author, Paterick Rothfuss, that is friggin awesome. I highly suggest that you track down the book The Name of the Wind and give it a go. Its a 720ish page book but I read it in just under two days. His second book is coming out soon and its gonna be a tree killer. on normal paper is 1500 pages long!
Can't wait for football to start either. Its kind of comforting that the Huskers hve started fall camp.

1st Q review and 2nd Q goals......
All rightie, its been exactly (well approximately) four months since I posted anything so I thought I'd put somethin up. First off lets review the 1st Q goals.
Less computer time. I have come to realize that 4 hours a night of staring at a 17 inch CRT isn’t good for the health nor does it make the wife happy.
For the first goal its a draw, I've since taken a hiatus from WoW and sold a desktop but I find myself watching alot of tv at Hulu (great place to watch shows you missed for free, and its legal).
Less Coke intake. I hate to imagine what the massive amounts of sugar and acid are doing to my insides. At least its not that diet crap, that stuff is horribly unnatural and harmful.
I've completely cut coke out of my diet and started eating better after I weighed in at 196 during a command fitness check and have since dropped my weight down to 176.
Keep better control of my anger. That’s right its not ok to yell at idiots, even if they do deserve worse.
I've gotten marginally better at this, kids still drive me nuts and cali drivers just don't seem to give a flying *(&^$&^ about anyone but themselves (yesterday I witnessed a half dozen cars that wouldn't let an ambulance running code through a stoplight).
Spend more time with the family. I am thinking that maybe a lunch or two a week isn’t such a bad idea, besides working through lunch isn’t exactly making for a happy camper.
No commento...
Be more motivated. Nuff said, this one goes a bit too deep for a public settin’.
Yes and no.
Now for 2nd Q goals
1. Drop weight to 160 and work my way up to a good medium score by the end of the quarter.
2. Spend more time with the family (maybe take a bit of leave and head to one of the parks near by).
3. Take a college course.
4. Become a subject matter expert in my field. (there is a pipe dream there, more to follow).
5. keep a better house (ie motivate wife to do it).

2009 1st Quarter goals
Well since Carolyn is holding a perverbial and soon to be literal gun to my head I figured that I would follow her commands and post my first quarter goals and such. I haven’t read her blog yet to see how many she but I am keeping it to five items in hopes that I am not setting myself up for failure on the first get-go.

My computer is born!
Well its finally assembled (with a few parts to be replaced later) and dang, this is the fastest computer I've owned. I had to steal my wife's hard drive and give her one that's about as stable as a bipolar, schizophrenic women on ice. I also have an old dell monitor that I dug out of an electronic waste bin. Other than that its a very nice system, but I am still contemplating bumping my OS up to the 64 bit vista to fully appreciate the 32 gigs of ram my motherboard will accommodate.
And dang, didn't Navy dominate army! I was honestly worried when Paul Johnson left the Middies last year to coach at Georgia Tech but Ken Niumatalolo has the Middies going to a bowl again this year and hasn't let Navy down.
Huskers, what can I say? They've turned from flower toting ballerinas to football players. They still have a bit to go but Bo Pelini has beaten most of the stank off the team. I am disappointed that Florida State didn't get the Gator Bowl invite but a win against Clemson is just as good.
I checked the traffic history yesterday and notice the average browsing time on my blog was 4 seconds. WTF??!! I don't suck that bad.

My new computer is about be conceived!
Hi yall, I am gettin' pumped about my new computer that is taking shape. I've already started by ordering a bare bones system (found one cheap) that just needs a bit of a bigger power supply. There was a 450w ps that came with it and I want to bump it up to the 600w range for some silent hunter 4 and WoW pwnage! Stats are as follows:
Processor: Athlon X2 Dual-Core 6000+ (ALREADY ATTAINED)
Mother Board: ECS NFORCE9M-A (ALREADY ATTAINED)
Ram: 4 gigs of DDR2 (yet to be attained)
Video Card: Sparkle GeForce 8500 GT (yet to be attained)
Sound card, monitor, hard drive and such is yet to be decided on.
I was wanting to grab a copy of a 64 bit windows so I can break the mythical wall of 4 gigs of ram but I haven't been hearing nice things about the compatibility of the 64 bit windows. I haven't tried the other open source OSs because my expierance with Ubuntu I think it was was really bland. In fact I think my wife's casserole supprise has more excitement in it than Ubuntu did.
On the another note the Huskers bummed me out this weekend only beating the puffaloes by 9. But style points aside Alex Henry is one heck of an improvement in our kicking game and the 'skers never gave up while going down by 14 in what felt like as many seconds. Here's to a Gator bowl invite with Flordia State!
Oh, eyeball liberty is now being called.
